MILLS, Wyo. (AP) — Several firefighting agencies battled a large fire at an apartment complex that was still under construction in Mills on Friday.

The fire in the three-story wooden complex was under control by about 10 p.m., Mills Fire Chief Bob Lanz said, but crews remained on the scene on Saturday.

The fire began in the middle of the building and spread to both ends, Lanz said, but there was no immediate information released about what may have been the cause.

The fire was first reported around 8 p.m., and first responders in Mills asked neighboring agencies to help, said Casper Fire-EMS Department engineer and spokesman Dane Anderson. When the Casper Fire-EMS Department arrived, the building was fully engulfed with flames on all sides and the roof, Anderson said.

Mop-up on the fire could continue into next week, Anderson said during a Facebook briefing Saturday morning.

He said he believes there were no injuries reported in the blaze.
